The latest addition to the Oscar recipients is actress Rachel Weisz. The talented beauty is set to do a biopic on the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor. The movie titled “A Special relationship” will depict the bonding Elizabeth had with her assistant Rodger Wall and how she became a social activist from an actress.
The story is penned by Oscar winner Simon Beaufoy who earlier wrote “Slumdog Millionaire.” The film will be directed by the women directors Bert &Bertie of “Troop Zero.”
It will be released under the banner of See-Saw Films Iain Canning and Emile Sherman who previously produced movies like The King’s Speech and so on. Further it will be co-produced by Danny Perkins alongside Barbara Berkowitz who is in charge of the late actress Taylor’s estate and trust.
Besides winning 2 Oscars for the film “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “Butterfield 8” and was nominated 5 time. Though she was garnered highly for her talent, she went through several marriages and she also fought against Aids.
Further, the producers stated that: “Audiences are clearly fascinated by the private lives of iconic Hollywood stars and there is no one more iconic than Elizabeth Taylor, and Simon Beaufoy has written a role that shines a light on Elizabeth’s humor and humanity, which will be beautifully brought to life through the extraordinary talents of Rachel Weisz.”
Adding to this they spoke saying: “real-life best friends and creative collaborators Bert&Bertie” were the perfect directors to tell the story at the heart of “A Special Relationship,” which “is a celebration of how friendships can change people’s lives, and how Elizabeth helped change the world.”
The film is set to hit the screens on November 6th in Santa Monica.
