The HR head of Google has now decided to step down from her job. The official statement was released today on February 11th, 2020. The company stated that Eileen Naughton had started to work from 2006 and went on to become the vice president of people operations 4 years back.
But her transition details have not been revealed and Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that: “Over the past 13 years, Eileen has made major contributions to the company in numerous areas, from media partnerships to leading our UK operations, to leading our People Operations team through a period of significant growth—during which over 70,000 people have started their careers at Google. We’re grateful to Eileen for all she’s done and look forward to her next chapter at Google.”
The other side Eileen released a statement that: “My husband and I have decided—after six years on the road, first in London and now San Francisco—to return home to New York to be closer to our family. I’m at the very beginning of the process, and wanted to let everyone know up front, as I’ll be working with Sundar and Ruth [Porat, Google’s CFO] to find a great leader for the People Operations team.”
It’s also said that when Eileen was at Google there had been a series of incidents that have created chaos amidst employers. The firm had been accused of sexual abuses which had eventually made several employees quit and some stated they had been fired mistakenly.
Further, Google had been alleged for racist issues on blacks, Latinx and native workers. The firm had earlier kept this away from media and kept all of it under wraps.
The steps taken by the firm to speak on the labor problems had added benefits for contract-based employees as there were misconducts and terminations.
