Fred’s Wednesday Wine Club #FWWC Marks & Spencer Le Fleuve Bleu Rouge 2018 This is "un vin de table" 🍷. In fact this is as good "un vin de table" as you can get. And to drink it took me back instantly to a time long gone… In France where I grew up vin de table was as a common as a cuppa tea. My parents always had (and still have) a bottle on the table at every meal. To this day my Dad proudly buys "en vrac" the family vin de table from his local supplier 5L at a time. This is part of his enjoyable routine. Hope he is able to do that again very soon. He goes there, has a chat with the owner and other customers, plans a strike or two and then proceeds to get the wine out of the barrel himself and onto his container. The next time you see the wine, it is in a glass bottle on the kitchen table. Vin de table is big in France because it is every day wine. Vin de table well made is wine at its best. Simple, fruity and easy to drink. Think Bacchus on his bed! Like everything in life you have to know your 🧅 to ensure you only pick the best. First of all I love the name. Le Fleuve Bleu. It sounds very romantic to my French ears. The wine is a delicious blend of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah. With only 12% in alcohol, you could almost drink it for breakfast. I left it outside my kitchen window to make sure it was slightly chilled before drinking. Colour – scarlet red Nose – fruity, fresh and very pleasant. Palate – balanced, slight notes of citrus and butter rounded with lots of red fruits. Short finish. This is a young and very fruity red, perfect for a snuggle in front of the TV… a roast chicken or some cheeky sausages and mash. By the way the next series of #GordonGinoandFred starts this April x

Back in 2018, he gave a hint of their blossoming love life that they loved going for wine and tapas.

He also shared that watching Netflix with his partner was the best than anything else.

Speaking to a magazine he said: “Occasionally, I’ll go for a little wine and some tapas after work with my partner, who I like to call “fruitcake”.

He also added: “It’s nice to have a relaxing conversation and chill out when you’ve had a long day. If I do get the chance to be in the kitchen and in the evenings I like nothing more than sitting down with a beer and watching something on Netflix.”
