The parks of Disney and Walt Disney World have stated to shut its doors until the government gives a nod. The Disney’s in California and Florida were to open back on Wednesday nut now since the pandemic outbreak is going beyond imagination the theme parks will remain closed stated in its official statement.
The Walt Disney Co. said that: “While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees remain The Walt Disney Company’s top priority,” a statement from the company reads. “As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.”

It also added that: “it has been paying its cast members since the closure of the parks, and in light of this ongoing and increasingly complex crisis, we have made the decision to extend paying hourly parks and resorts cast members through April 18.”
The issue had been intimated when the union leaders of the respective parks have been sending an official letter stating that they need an update on the situation as employees are worried about the pandemic outbreak which spread was uncertain. So, Universal Studios stated that the parks will remain closed till April 19th.
Further, as per sources, it was said that almost 90% of the absent workers will be temporarily removed as of April 1st. It said that: “The furloughed employees will not receive compensation from the Company during the furlough period after March 31, 2020; however, subject to local regulations, these employees will be eligible for unemployment benefits,” the filing reads. “The furlough period is uncertain at this time due to the temporary park closures and will be reassessed as business conditions dictate.”
The state of California is now completely lockdown like the other states closing all nonessential business until further notice. It still not clear what is yet to happen next!
