Legendary voiceover star Julie Bennett breathed her last breath on Tuesday after battling with COVID-19.
The news was confirmed by her agent and pal Mark Scroggs who appreciated everyone who took care of her at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A he said they were “amazing during all of this.”
He also added that: “She was definitely a personality and a throwback to Hollywood glamour. Divorced, she leaves behind her mutually adopted family.”
Originally from Manhattan, Julie shifted to South California when she was very young and went back to New York where she made her debut in Hollywood in 1950 as an actress. She was best known for her stage performances, radio series, and TV series.
When she returned to Los Angeles she appeared in small characters in popular shows like “Leave it to Beaver, Superman, Gunsmoke, and Dragnet.”
Gradually she began lending voices where she was more successful and she was widely appreciated for her work as Cindy Bear in Yogi Bear Show in 1961 and following in the movie which was released in 1964. The film was produced by Hannah-Barbara.
Her voice was sought after for several animated shows like “The Huckleberry Hound Show, The Bugs Bunny Show, Mister Magoo, The Real Ghostbusters, and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.”
