Thomas Macias from California was seen having fun with his friends at a BBQ party in Lake Elsinore, on the outskirts of Los Angeles last month before the day he died due to corona.
Before the day he passed away he had shared an emotional message where he felt guilty for not following social distancing rules and requested people to wear protective masks.
He was said to test positive with COVID-19 on June 18th and cried regretting his Facebook on his “stupidity” and stated that he has put his loved ones in a critical situation.
The post read: “I fed up and went out a couple of weeks ago and I contracted the coronavirus,” Macias, 51, wrote, NBC News reported. “Because of my stupidity, I put my mom and sisters and my family’s health in jeopardy. This has been a very painful experience.”
He continued requesting his social media followers to give heed to health authorities on the pandemic.
“This is no joke. If you have to go out wear a mask and practice social distancing. Don’t be a f—ing idiot like me,” he wrote. “Hopefully with God’s help, I’ll be able to survive this.”
After this message, Thomas passed away the following day.
Thomas was said to be a truck driver who had diabetes which is easily prone to COVID-19 as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The full post read as follows,
Some of you know, but most don’t. I fucked up and went out a couple of weeks ago and I contracted the coronavirus.
Monday I tested for it and it was confirmed on Thursday. Because of my stupidity, I put my mom and sisters and my family’s health in jeopardy. This has been a very painful experience. This is no joke. If you have to go out wear a mask and practice social distancing. Don’t be a fucking idiot like me. Thank you to all my friends that have brought me food, and to everyone who has been there for me.
Hopefully, with God’s help, I’ll be able to survive this.
