Myths of the cure for Corona through natural remedies to prevent the virus are not that effective. Usage of essential oils, chlorine, are said to be safeguarded from the virus. Well here are few questions that were asked to Dr. Sader Chief Medical Officer for UnityPoint Health in Peoria, to put an end to the myths.
How exactly does the virus spread?
Dr. Sader: “It’s mostly by contact and droplets. So the droplets are all over the place around somebody who says sneezes in a car and then touches the handle of the car. And then you come and you touch it and then you touch your face or your mouth or your eyes.”
How long would a person with this virus be contagious to others?
Dr. Sader: “That’s a good question. We are not 100% sure. The way we’re handling it is if you do not have a fever without taking medication for about 3 days then you are not infectious.”
What about gargling with salt water, bleach, alcohol, chlorine, essential oils?
Dr. Sader: “Don’t do that. Don’t do any of that. Don’t do the bleach, don’t do the essential oils, don’t do the chlorine. You can actually hurt yourself.”
What about people recovering from Covid-19 can suffer permanent lung damage, 20 to 30 percent lung function in some of them?
Dr. Sader: “That’s possible.”
Can dogs, cats, other pets, they can get the virus and spread it?
Dr. Sader: “I don’t know that. I think dogs can’t get it but I’m not an infectious disease or microbiology Dr..”
Are you more likely to contract the flu than coronavirus?
Dr. Sader: “Probably because there are more people around you currently.”
And there’s no vaccine or medication for the virus?
Dr. Sader: “It’s true[…]the fear of what’s happening and all the things that have changed around us makes us feel very anxious about it, but if you think about how fast we’re developing all these things, it’s pretty impressive.”
