Though the legendary actor Wilford Brimley stories never be on the cast for HBO’s “Yellowstone,” but it is hard to deny the actor’s influence on the series. In the most recent episode, Wilford received a title card in honor of his life’s work.
This week, fans of HBO’s hit Western drama, “Yellowstone,” was surprised to see a title card for Wilford Brimley on the show. The tribute comes after Brimley’s death earlier this month.
Although he never appeared in the series, there is a good reason for the honor. Brimley, best known for his roles in “Cocoon,” “The Natural,” and “Absence of Malice,” is a legend in Western media.

Wilford Brimley the classic actor with a walrus mustache who was prominent in the movie Cocoon passed away at 85.
The native of Salt Lake was popular as a plant foreman in The China Syndrome (1979) created by Jack Lemmon breathed his last breath on Saturday in Utah and it was confirmed by his rep Lynda Bensky.
Brimley who underwent dialysis and other ailments were admitted in the intensive care in St. George, Utah prior to his demise. He seemed to live in Greybull, Wyo in a ranch since 2004.
Lynda stated that: “Wilford Brimley was a man you could trust. He said what he meant and he meant what he said. He had a tough exterior and a tender heart. I’m sad that I will no longer get to hear my friend’s wonderful stories. He was one of a kind.”
Further his talent agent Dominic Mancini said that: “He was a wonderful man, a joy to be around, and his dry sense of humor and iconic voice left an everlasting impression on every person he met. I was lucky to call him a friend. To know Wilford, was to love Wilford. He had an amazing career and sliced through the screen with his dry wit, stoic stature, and powerful conveyance. His unique blend of unexpected comedy and indelible storytelling will always remain unmatched.”
He was also part of the television from 1986-88 in the renowned NBC series ‘Our House’ as a retired widow who posts the demise of his son stays with this daughter-in-law and her three children.
Previously he had a persistent role in the famous CBS family series ‘The Waltons’ as the polite and gentle speaking Walton resident Horace Brimley.
