‘Wasping’ is the new fad among Americans where teenagers are moving to bug-sprays to induce hallucinatory effects similar to methamphetamine. Police in America have warned against this new drug trend.
Somewhere in West Virginia, three separate overdoses have been reported and the Police are worried. And ever since the spread of this wave, there has been a noticeable uptake in the number of Bug sprays sold in the country.
According to an ABC News report, When used as a meth substitute, the wasp spray has been reported by users to generate a ‘rush,’ feelings of déjà vu and a hallucinatory sense of smell. It mimics the after-effects of Meth.
Users either spray the liquid onto methamphetamine or crystallize the liquid using hot metal sheets which allow the finished product to be inhaled or injected.
Authorities are still worried about how to deal with this situation, given the fact that this new drug-substitute is legal and is an essential household product.
