Insufficient funding and trouble handling the logistics will apparently cause chaos in distributing the vaccine in the United States, according to experts. The delayed distribution will apparently result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in the United States.
According to the statistic, America is on its way to hit the appalling milestone of 20m coronavirus cases, but reaching the federal government’s own target of vaccinating 20 million people by the end of 2020 proved a huge problem.
With more than 10,000 deaths recorded in the United States in the last 3 days alone, the nation records a worst 24-hour last Wednesday.
The dean of Brown University’s School of Public Health, Ashish Jha said to The Guardian that “Basically, the federal government is botching the vaccine rollout. They thought their job ends when the vaccine arrives in the states, and there’s really no well-delineated plan. What America is suffering through is the consequence of incompetence in federal leadership – the entire pandemic has been marred by a group of people, not just Donald Trump – who don’t understand how things work and can’t get something to work effectively.”
“The vaccine looks like it can reduce the risk of … symptomatic Covid. Every week, two week, three-week delay, while the cases are pushing up further, is costing lives – and especially if we’re talking about healthcare professionals. Not enough doses have been produced and distributed. Of the doses that have been distributed, the majority have not been administered. They’re either getting [caught] up in the supply chain … or not getting administered, which is not too surprising, because there hasn’t been a clear, coordinated national plan,” he said.
Why Is the World Suddenly Behind Toilet Paper?
March 2020
It looks like the shit is getting real. But, why are people even panicking about hoarding loads of paper rolls? Well, the reason is pretty much the same for all the chaos that’s happening around the world right now. The Covid-19 pandemic has made people in the run for stocking various basic needs such as bottled water and poop paper rolls.
“One thing that happens during pandemics, when people are threatened with infection, is that their sensitivity to disgust increases. They are more likely to experience the condition of disgust and are motivated to avoid that”, says Dr. Taylor Steven, author of the book ‘The Psychology of Pandemics’.
Major shopping malls and stores in the U.S already have run out of the basics as most people have self-quarantined themselves at home due to the Corona scare. As the situation wasn’t foreseen, retailers are finding it hard to meet the rising demands of the locals. To date, 3,823 Americans have been tested positive with a death toll of 67 from various states across the country.
