The 50-year-old movie star Mark Wahlberg proudly attended the F45 gym opening on San Diego military base. The F45 gym located at the MCAS Miramar in San Diego opened on Friday morning. It is the fitness franchise’s first place to be built at a military base.
The American actor spent his money on the gym with the high hope that military veterans will achieve fitness like him.
There are many gyms on base, but a huge crowd of military families visited the place who were not just there for a workout but to meet the rapper and fitness enthusiast Wahlberg.
The famous actor is well-known for his performance in movies including “Boogie Nights,” ‘The Departed” and “The Other Guys,” who visit San Diego to meet military families and capture pictures.
As an investor, he was happy that he would sponsor a place where people can work out together again.
The rapper said, “It’s just the experience of working out with other people, their energy, and your sense of community and support.” he said from the steps of F45. “I saw people working out at every level of fitness… and you always leave the studio feeling like you can conquer the world.”
Mark performed as several military heroes in his movies and wanted to offer Marines and their families a different kind of workout that you couldn’t normally get on base.
Wahlberg said, “I could give you many Ron Burgundy quotes, but we won’t do that right now.” He further added, “I’m excited to be here on the base and just to be able to thank and continue to express my gratitude to all our brave servicemen and women.”
Wahlberg explained why he joined the franchise, “I mean, they are the best of the best. The best trained, the most loyal, the hardest workers. And you know, we want to encourage them to be studio owners, the multi-unit operators we work with, and make our program better.”
