The famous American country singer, actor, guitarist, and record producer who has been sober for 13 years reveals how his wife helped him to overcome the difficulties. Tim McGraw gave his fans an insight into how difficult his life was with alcohol.
The famous singer recalls his struggles through an essay for “Esquire” and admitted publicly that his wife Faith Hill is the one who led him to recovery after he explained his fears to her.
The singer wrote in an essay that “I remember a moment when I was getting out of bed and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8:00 in the morning and thinking, ‘I have to wake the kids up.” He also added, “I went straight to my wife and said, ‘This is where I’m at.’ I was scared. She just grabbed me and hugged me and changed my life.”
The singer shows his gratitude towards his wife through an essay that showcases his admission towards alcohol. He also describes the love he had for his wife Faith Hill “I didn’t know love could feel so good. Was it an emotion? Was it a lifestyle? Was it an imaginary thing? But love is all of those things.”
This isn’t the first time the singer has spoken about how his wife has helped him through his hard times. In 2019, the singer talked to Hoda Kotb about how his wife Faith Hill helped reign his career.
During that time, he explained, “When things happen, and you succeed beyond your wildest dreams, and you’re playing all these great shows, and the parties are going on, then you’re married, and you have kids. And all of a sudden, your wife looks at you and says, ‘You know, you’re getting a little overboard, and you need to make some decisions.’ It makes a big impact on you.”
Since 1996, Tim and Faith have faced many challenges and still keep their love for family and career in front.
