With the fear of Corona Virus spreading across the globe, even the movie industry has stopped new releases and promotions. But there were few flicks released this week and the past where the animated movie “Onward” had an opening worth a sum of $40 million across 4,310 screens in North America. This is considered to be one of the least openings from the house of Pixar.
Yet it is not sure of how it did in the U.S in the weekend amidst the Corona chaos. On the whole, the box office collection witnessed an approx fall of 50% than last year where Marvel had a huge opening with a sum of $153 million.
Though the film “Onward” had opened with a least of $28 million across 47 places it has reached a sum of $68 million all over the world. This is quite good as many films did not release in almost all of the countries due to Corona.
The film received well and was given almost 86% and stated as “fresh” in many reviews. The two teen elf brothers’ voice-over was given by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland respectively. The story revolves around these boys who go on a mission to find out whether there is any magic to bring back their demised father. The film is helmed by Dan Scanlon who had earlier helmed Monsters University and written by Jason Headley and Keith Bunin.
