Prince William and Kate Middleton’s office got disappointed with the behavior of one of the royal aides in the event organized at Buckingham Palace this Tuesday evening. A spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales told the media on Wednesday, “I was really disappointed to hear about the guest’s experience.”
A senior assistant of the royal family identified by the British media as Lady Susan Hussey, resigned after she asked a charity founder—Ngozi Fulani—about where she was “really” from in a reception held by British Queen Consort Camilla.
Fulani, the CEO of Sista Space, an organization that provides specialist services to women of African and Caribbean heritage tweeted about the conversation between her and Lady Susan—referred to in her tweets as ‘SH’—on Wednesday.
Buckingham Palace told the British media that the member in question has apologized and “stepped aside from her honorary role with immediate effect.”
Ngozi Fulani attended the royal event on domestic violence organized by the Queen Consort of the UK Tuesday evening. One of the royal assistants at the function asked Fulani a series of questions about her heritage and would not accept that she was British.
The 83-year-old Susan Hussey was a senior royal aide to the late Queen.
