All You Must Know about the Upcoming Movie, “A Family Affair

The dynamic duo, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, will be back on screen in their upcoming romantic comedy movie, “A Family Affair.” Fans are eagerly waiting for this reunion and it will be their third collaboration after the steamy thriller, “The Paperboy” (2012), and the drama, “The Butler.” Adding to the star power, the film features Joey King, Lisa Koshy, and the legendary Kathy Bates.

The Plot

“A Family Affair” plot promises plenty of drama and hilarity. Joey King stars as Zara Ford, a young woman horrified to discover her mother Brooke (Nicole Kidman) has an affair with her egotistical movie star boss, Chris Cole (Zac Efron). The trailer opens with a bang, as King’s character walks in on her mom and boss in bed. Her reaction? A scream, a dash, and a headlong crash into a wall. From there, the trailer dives into the chemistry between Kidman and Efron.

Nicole Kidman, ever the epitome of grace, shows a wild side when she declares, “I’m a little crazy. I’m allowed, right?” in an unforgettable scene. The film’s tagline, “a love story for everyone and their mother,” hints at an unusual and awkward love triangle. King’s character gets caught up in her mother’s entanglements with her boss, quipping, “You’re not Jack and Rose” from Titanic.

The movie’s team has an impressive lineup. It is directed by Richard LaGravanese, with a screenplay by Gary Solomon, and produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum, who are known for their work in the romantic hit, “Anyone But You.”

The film was initially slated for a November 2023 release, but unfortunately, it was pushed to 2024 due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now, with a global Netflix release scheduled for June 28, 2024, fans don’t have to wait much longer to see this star-studded rom-com unfold.
