Ana de Armas opens up about the impact of social media on actors

The pros and cons of the handles from her perspective!

Ana de Armas talks about her thoughts on the current status and perception of actors among their fans in an interview with Vanity Fair. The bridge that social media has built between the fans and actors, where they can be seen along with their whereabouts with their personalities, not just the characters they play on screen. The actress said, “I feel like the new generations don’t have that concept of mystery surrounding fame, because of social media. There is so much information out there and oversharing. The concept of a movie star is someone untouchable you only see onscreen. That mystery is gone.”

The stars can even voice their opinions and have a direct connection with people who admire them, and share what they feel like, for which she says, “for the most part, we’ve done that to ourselves—nobody’s keeping anything from anyone, anymore.” Ana who played the character of the iconic star of Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe says, there are certain areas where she could relate to the classic star.

Though there are perks of social media, there are even certain cons of it. The actress also addressed those as “I barely use it because I just feel like things are always wrong on social media.”

She talks about the midpoint, “If it was up to me, I would delete Instagram right now, but I can’t. I understand that I’m not just an actress. I have other brands that I’m working with and I have other commitments. It’s tricky because you feel the pressure to share some personal insight, or something about your private life, to keep people interested in you. You have to find a balance somehow, which I find very difficult.”

Anjelica Huston Joins the Cast of Ana de Armas’ Ballerina

Huston is set to reprise her role as the cold boss of a crime organization

The hype for Ballerina is getting better day by day. According to The Hollywood Reporter, 1991’s The Addams Family star Anjelica Huston will be joining the stellar cast, led by Ana de Armas. Huston is said to reprise her role as The Director, the leader of Ruska Rome crime group in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

The Director is also known to be a mother figure to the franchise protagonist John Wick, who trained in the Ruska Roma during his early days. Despite the limited screen time, Huston dominated the scenes with her commanding presence, making her character a remarkable one.

Along with de Armas and Huston, the John Wick spinoff has also confirmed that Ian McShane would join the party. McShane would reprise his role as Winston, owner of The Continental with a close affiliation to The High Table. And that’s not all. John Wick himself is set to appear in the remarkable spinoff.

As production began in Prague for Ballerina, the John Wick universe is getting bigger and better. Along with the female-led spinoff, a prequel series The Continental is also in the works. Also, John Wick: Chapter 4 releases on March 23, 2023, with tons of action in store for fans.

Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, involves an assassin who attempts to get revenge after her family is assassinated by a crime group.

The Blonde crew visits the grave for permission

The crew visits Monroe’s grave and seeks permission to film the actress’s life

Ana de Armas is playing Marilyn Monroe in her upcoming movie, “The Blonde.” The actress and her crew visited Monroe’s graveyard in Las Vegas. The ultimate purpose of the visit was to seek permission from the deceased actress to film her story.

The actress says how they got a card, and every single person wrote a message. “Then we went to the cemetery and put it on her grave. “We were asking for permission in a way.” The Blonde focuses not just on the life of the actress but the life of Norma Jeane, who later became Marilyn Monroe.

The actress passed away at 36 due to an overdose of drugs. The iconic star and her life have received a lot of public criticism. Armas says she takes the role with a lot of respect, and there is a huge responsibility on the crew to bring the star to life on the screen. The crew filmed a few scenes in the same house where Monroe lived and died at the end. The plot focuses on how Norma Jeane turned into Marilyn Monroe until her tragic death.

Ana de Armas cries at the premiere of ‘Blonde’

The most blessed and overwhelming moment for Ana de Armas

Actress Ana de Armas cried at the premiere of the Netflix movie ‘Blonde’ in the Venice International Film Festival on September 8, according to reports.

The actress shed some tears after she received a 14-minute-long standing ovation from the audience who praised her performance in the biopic film about the late Marilyn Monroe.

When Ana, the Deep Water actress, was asked about her role in the film in January 2021, she told the Times of London, “It took me nine months of dialect coaching, and practicing and some ADR sessions [to get the accent right]. It was a big torture, so exhausting. My brain was fried,” and added, “I did this movie to push myself because I thought it was a gift,” she said. “And this movie changed my life.”

The 34-year-old Ana arrived at the Film Festival in a plunging pink floor-length gown designed by Louis Vuitton for the Blonde premiere. The actress looked stunning with that pink dress and diamond accessories. The starlet’s neck was adorned with a beautiful diamond necklace and a shining bracelet on her hand gave a retro look.

Ana de Armas is a Cuban and Spanish actress, who acted in many movies including the recent ‘Deep Water’,  and ‘The Gray Man.’

Blonde, Netflix and Ana de Armas

Ana De Armas about ‘Blonde’, receiving an NC-17 rating.

Cuban and Spanish actress Ana De Armas has spoken out about her upcoming Netflix drama ‘Blonde’, receiving an NC-17 rating. The rating means, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to view the film in theaters. In an interview with the French magazine L’Officiel, the actress expressed her frustration and bewilderment over the rating by the Motion Picture Association.

“I didn’t understand why that happened. I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit with a lot more sexual content than Blonde. But to tell this story it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn’s life that made her end up the way that she did. It needed to be explained. Everyone [in the cast] knew we had to go to uncomfortable places. I wasn’t the only one.”

Ana worked with a dialect coach for a year, went through multiple auditions, and studied Joyce Carol Oates’s novel by the same name, to prepare for the role.

Director Andrew Dominik predicted the Netflix biopic will get an NC-17 rating in February, stating, “It’s a demanding movie. If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the fucking audience’s problem. It’s not running for public office.”

Know the next Bond-girl: Ana de Armas

Bond 25 has a good balance between familiar and fresh faces. This would be Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond. We have our beloved Academy Award winner Rami Malek portraying the villain. No offense but this would be the first time I’d be rooting for the villain (Rami) than 007 himself.

No Bond movie is complete without a bold and beautiful Bond girl. This year, Ana de Armas shall be playing the lady love to Agent 007. And we believe she’s more than just a pretty face. Here are the must-know facts about our bold and beautiful Ana de Armas

Best of both worlds: Cuba and Spain

She studied at the National Theater School, in Cuba. After completing her studies Ana moved from Cuba to Madrid to with big dreams to pursue. She was never afraid to cross comfort zones, and it was her relentless pursuit that landed her in Los Angeles. She gained popularity in the Spanish TV show “El Internado Laguna Negra“.

She was cast in Knock Knock at a time when she didn’t speak  English

After moving to Los Angeles and immersed herself in acting classes. Ana heaily prioritized learning English and was driven to audition for roles. She used her spanish fame as less as possible after becoming a household name in the TV show “El Internado Laguna Negra.” Her first major feature film in the United States was Knock Knock, a psychological thriller with Keanu Reeves in the lead. She dazzled in each and every scene she appeared. Go watch it if you haven’t yet.

She started at an early age

Ana started showing interest in acting as early as 12 years old and appeared on screen at the age of 16. She watched movies at a young age and enacted her favorite lines whenever she got the chance to.

Blade Runner was a blessing in disguise

She auditioned for Blade runner without even knowing what her role was. After spending 5 grueling months shooting Blade Runner 2049 in Budapest, Ana de Armas had to go through rigorous personal training for the role. She had to display a mature display of emotional acting skills starring opposite Ryan Gosling. But the grueling 5 months paid off very well and Ana got critical praise from audience and critics alike.

Loves puppies

She adores puppies and loves playing with them. She has a dog named Elvis. She takes her do everywhere. Be it long walks on beaches or mindlessly hanging his head out the window, Elvis is all over the Bond girl’s Instagram profile.

She fled Communist Cuba to pursue her acting career

De Armas left Cuba since she knew for certain that if she stayed, she had to take up a low paying job for her nationally-funded education. Cuba didn’t allow entertainment to be a huge part of life and in what one might consider a smart move, she headed over to Madrid where she found her big calling in acting.

She said, “I had to weigh the value of having a degree in my hands or leaving at that moment in search of my future. I always pay attention to my intuition — so I left,” she said. “I left to try my luck. It could have turned out for the good or for the bad. I was gambling everything, but it was a risk I needed to take. I had there, in front of my eyes, former students of the school, graduates who were not working or who didn’t have any money because they had to perform social service.”
