In the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Anna Kendrick talked about her six-year toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend, whom she chose to keep anonymous.
“I was with someone — this was somebody I lived with, for all intents and purposes my husband. We had embryos together, this was my person. And then about six years in, about somewhere around there, I remember telling my brother, when things had first kind of gone down, ‘I’m living with a stranger. Like, I don’t know what’s happening,” said Kendrick.
Kendrick admitted that the person she believed to be everything for her had cheated on her with a different girl. She added that they had both made embryos together. She continued by expressing her great fondness for the individual and her efforts to keep their connection intact. In an effort to rebuild their relationship, she even says they’ve been to couple therapy together. She even recalls the incident where her ex treated her terribly and caused her a great deal of grief. She began attending a therapist to start again in her life, and she also began to meditate, both of which she said changed her life.
“I started seeing two therapists a week and I started trying to learn to meditate and I got into Al-Anon and all of these things ended up being very wonderful things for me in the long run,” Kendrick shared.
