Another Boeing 737 Goes Down, Kills All 176 on Board

A brutal tragedy unfolded in the Iranian skies early this morning as another Boeing 737 went down killing all 169 passengers and 9 crew members on board. Flight PS752, a four-year-old carrier, belonging to Ukranian International Airlines bound to Kyiv, Ukraine, burst into flames mid-air after minutes of take-off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport. The incident which happened at 6:12 local time (02:42 GMT) was recorded on camera and looks extremely disturbing.

Having been in the air only for a few minutes, Boeing 737-800 NG came crashing down after it caught fire. There were totally 63 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, 4 Afghans, 3 Britons, and 3 Germans on the doomed flight.

While the cause of the accident is still unclear, the Ukranian government has ruled out any hijack or military attack. But, it’s hard to not take a keener look at the faulty engines or fuel tanks that could have caused this mishap. To date, the Boeing 737-800 has been involved in 10 fatal accidents worldwide.

Boeing is already in scrutiny over its MAX 737 crisis that has kept all of the model’s carriers grounded after 2 fatal crashes that took a toll of 346 lives in Indonesia and Ethiopia. Though the two models and their software are completely different, the company will surely be in turmoil if any design flaws are found. As of now, the black box has been retrieved but we’ll have to wait until there’s an official report claiming the reason for the accident.
