The 43-year-old “X-Men” actress opened up in an honest Mother’s Day interview, discussing the couple’s decision to freeze her eggs rather than have a full hysterectomy because they both wanted more children.

The couple are already parents to their darling baby, Malcolm. Recalling earlier attempts at ages 33 and 39, Munn said, “After my diagnosis of breast cancer, we decided to try one more round of egg retrievals and hoped it was a good month.” 

Munn described the anxious wait with mutual hope. The doctor called with the fantastic news that two of the seven eggs had grown into viable embryos and their prayers had been answered. “John and I just broke down in tears. Not only did we obtain it in one retrieval. It was simply incredible,” she said, her voice overflowing with thanks.

Moving on, Munn chose to become a surrogate, a choice she made following her complete hysterectomy, which removed her ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus. She exhibited her strong character and steadfast dedication to her family’s future when she said, “I don’t have the ability to carry a baby anymore, so if we want to build our family, this is our option.”
