The Indonesian island is a dream destination for visitors around the world as it is a cultural mix of various religions and natives. As much as there is a steady increase in the number of tourists visiting Bali, recent times have brought in controversial issues. It has always been a sensitive issue when it came to the sentiments of the people to protect the sacred Hindu temples. But, scenes of westerners posing in bikinis and taking photos inappropriately have angered several including the Balinese Hinduism councils.
Adhering to this, the island’s deputy governor has planned to plant in rules relating to disrespectful behavior in the holy locales. “The temples need to be preserved since they are the spirits of Bali’s culture and customs”, he said at a council meeting. We guess there will probably be more restrictions, especially tourists who come unaccompanied.
