It’s always the holidays that make us traveling on a vacation or to meet loved ones. While traveling it has been hype these days to stay connected even in common places. Surfing is good but doing it with proper security is important as most public places tend to have Wi-Fi’s that access your personal details.
People tend to use this public access as it helps them save their data. But it is not safe. As per the FBI, it warns people not to connect with these public domains as there various risks. The statement from them reads: “Wi-Fi network is an open invitation for bad actors to access your device,” says the Bureau. Hackers “can load malware, steal your passwords and PINs, or even take remote control of your contacts and camera.”
Instead of these networks, it suggests going for VPN from a reliable source as it is encrypted and will be the best option to use the internet. Some of the VPNs include F-secure, McAfee, and Symantec.
If you are in an emergency or in a mandatory situation to use the internet then be cautious of using the public domain. Make sure not to open your personal emails, social media accounts or paying bills online.
