Two chemistry teachers decided to recreate the events in Breaking Bad by trying to cook methamphetamine, not in a trailer, but in their university chemistry laboratory.
Terry David Bateman, 45, and Bradley Allen Rowland, 40, associate professors of chemistry at Henderson State University, Arkansas were allegedly accused of manufacturing methamphetamine and using drug paraphernalia. They were arrested on Friday after an “undetermined chemical odor” was detected on October 8.
To bolster the ongoing investigation, a narcotics task force was assigned who carried out tests to determine the cause and source of the odor. Interestingly, they found Benzyl Chloride, which is one of the raw materials used to make meth, spilled on various places in the university chemistry lab.
There is still a question if they tried manufacturing meth on campus. I mean, that would be pretty dumb if you think about it.
One of the associate professor, Bradley Allen Rowland mentioned earlier in the university oracle that he is a big fan of the hit show Breaking Bad, a show about a chemistry teacher named Walter White (Bryan Cranston) who suffers from cancer and has to find a means to support his family when he dies. He teams up with one of his ex-students, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), who helps him to deal the meth that he makes to pay for his treatments.
