In most parts of the world, the COVID-19 cases are declining, and the death rates have come down. Vaccination played a major role in reducing the risk of being affected by COVID-19. New Zealand is one of the countries in the world that successfully controlled COVID-19 cases. Recently the country encouraged vaccination differently, with barbecues, a telethon and an opportunity to get vaccinated in the business-class seat of Boeing 787. Also, Super Saturday was a super hit!
85% of the people had their first dose, and 65% of the population were fully vaccinated on Super Saturday. Vaxathon, the vaccination programme, was conducted by New Zealand’s Ministry of Health. The main aim of this programme is to break the country’s previous record, for the most doses delivered in 24 hours which was 93,000. By 8 p.m, the Super Saturday vaccination programme trashed the previous records by delivering 130,000 doses.
The Pfizer doses were kept in dry ice, which is usually used to offer meats. In a new conference, Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden proudly says, “New Zealand has been world-leading on keeping down our case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths, as well as delivering a strong economy and low unemployment.” Many celebrities participated in the “Vaxathon”, and it was telecasted for eight hours straight.
