The iconic player Cristiano Ronaldo comes out of Manchester United by mutual consent. After his interview with Piers Morgan aired in two parts by last week, Manchester United issued a statement of 67 words on Tuesday. It was announced that the 37-year-old player’s contract with the club is terminated in a mutual agreement.
In the talk show, Ronaldo exploded with his perceptions about the club. The soccer player said he felt ‘betrayed’ by the club and was forced to be out of Old Trafford.
Ronaldo gave a statement on Erik ten Hag, “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t respect me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”
He told Erik ten Hag (coach) and other officials of the club made him feel unwanted for the past two years at Manchester United. He claimed that Manchester United officials doubted him for not attending pre-season, due to his daughter’s illness.
The club announced the contract termination by saying, “The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.”
The soccer star confirmed that it was a mutual decision by stating, “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.”
“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never change,” Ronaldo said, “However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”
