For the role Radcliffe played in “Merrily We Roll Along,” a Broadway musical, he bagged the Tony Award for “Best Featured Actor in a Musical.” In his acceptance speech, Radcliffe thanked his girlfriend, Erin Darke, and their son. He stated, “My love, Erin, you and our son are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much. Thank you so much!”
He added that he could not spend much time with his son on Father’s Day, but was excited to have fun with him later on.
Radcliffe stated that he was grateful to the creators of “Merrily We Roll Along.” He also said, “Thank you to Stephen Sondheim and George Furth for writing this unbelievable show and these incredible songs that are just a gift to get to sing every night.” Following these words, the actor expressed his appreciation for the cast and crew of the musical.
Radcliffe didn’t forget his co-stars in his acceptance speech, and looking at the director, Maria Friedman, he exclaimed, “This has been one of the best experiences of my life.” Many, including his girlfriend and his co-stars, were moved to tears by his speech.
