We all know that Chris Harrison has been the longtime host of the “Bachelor” series and he recently announced his retirement from the “Bachelor in Paradise” Series after defending contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s discriminatory behavior in the past.
Following his contentious remarks, Harrison apologized for promoting racism in the franchise and declared that he would “be stepping aside for a period of time,” missing the After the Final Rose special as host. Former Bachelorette’s Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe were later announced as Harrison’s substitutes in The Bachelorette’s 17th season.
And now, in the upcoming season of “Bachelor in Paradise”, David Spade will serve as a guest host, following Chris Harrison’s departure from the show.
According to a source, Spade, 56, will be one of the many celebs in a rotating roster of guest hosts for the seventh season of the ABC dating show. Spade’s followers probably know that he is a huge “Bachelor” fan who gives his comic take on each episode whenever it airs on ABC.
Even on his Instagram account, the comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member frequently cover the performance. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March, he also expressed his admiration for the show.
Even ABC and Warner Bros. TV did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE, although Spade is a renowned lover of the Bachelor franchise.
