With just a few days away from its big screen debut, reviewers got to watch DC’s Black Adam in an exclusive New York Premier, and it looks like DC fans can hope for the best.
The appearance of Black Adam was announced way back in 2014, with Dwayne Johnson portraying the villain. But it wasn’t until 2017 that the producers decided to give the character a solo movie. The Rock’s appearance as the antihero is long overdue after all.
The first reaction to the 11th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was a ray of hope for DC fans, with critics praising the film for its terrific cast and intriguing storyline.
Reviews went on about the directing and star-studded cast, with special mentions for director Jaume Collet-Serra, The Rock, Pierce Brosnan, and Aldis Hodge.
Black Adam is an antihero who was imprisoned for 5,000 years before being released into the present world, where he carries on his form of justice. And his actions pose a great challenge to the Justice Society in the DCEU.
The film also stars Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, Sarah Shahi, and Marwan Kenzari.
Black Adam releases in the US on October 21.

Zack Snyder, the director of Justice League, has never seen Justice League. His name is in the credits as the filmmaker, but he’s never sat through the version released to the world three years ago. His wife, Deborah, who produced the movie, advised him not to.
At the DC Fandom which held on Saturday, he revealed the much-awaited trailer and long speculated “Snyder Cut.” In the new trailer which runs for 2 and a half minutes, it is crystal clear that his version of Justice League is quite different from the 2017’s film that was helmed by Joss Whedon.
And now it’s a 4 hours HBO Max small series that seems like a continuation to the original characters taken from Man of Steel (2013) and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
The trailer begins with a rewind of Uxas (Ray Porter) the Apokaliptian fighter who turns Darseid prior to cutting to a fortunate future that foresees the Hall of Justice in spoiling the Darkseid ships ‘fills the sky parademons fly past, and a Joker card lingers on the wind for a moment.’
The clip then shows the present introducing again the cast of Justice League, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and so on. The main villain Steppenwolf has also introduced again. There is also a sneak peek of Desaad in the 1.15 minute who is seen for the first time.
