Depp Defends Dior!

The face of Dior Johnny Depp has come in rescue for the brand’s ad campaign.

The face of Dior Johnny Depp has come in rescue for the brand’s ad campaign. Johnny was featured in their “Sauvage” fragrance ad which was titled “We are Land.”

The Ad depicts Depp playing the guitar in a desert while his co-artist Canku, “One Star of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe” did a warrior dance in a customary “Native American headdress and wardrobe.”

This eventually heated up the scenario which made few social media users slam the video.  So, Dior had removed the video to which the actor defended by sharing his views with the comments.

He stated that: “A teaser obviously is a very concentrated version of images and there were objections to the teaser of the small film. The film has never been seen.”

He also spoke at the Deauville Film Festival through The Hollywood Reporter, that:  “There was never—and how could there be or how would there be—any dishonorable [intent].” However, the ad film was created with immense respect for the native people not just for North America but for people all around the world” he concluded.

The actor has been a part of Dior perfumes ever since 2015. He attended the film festival to promote his latest movie “Waiting for the Barbarians,” and said that the fragrance ad is yet to be finalized. Moreover, Dior’s creative group is planning to visit the offenders with the footage with the belief that it will be solved ASAP.

Sources say that this was made purely out of respect in order to honor the Native Americans and to bring hopes in their lives. Adding to this he stated: that the people of native America never had all the resources or aid from the United States government.  So, let’s wish team Dior good luck and let’s believe that it will have a happy ending.
