Disney Plus has pulled Home Alone from their library. It all happened when fans were discussing the pros and cons of rebooting Home Alone on Disney Plus. The fans of ‘Home Alone’ pentalogy were in for an unpleasant surprise on New Year’s day when Disney Plus shelved the streaming of a few fan-favorite films. The recently launched American video streaming service irked the fans and subscribers alike with its move. Within weeks of rebooting the nostalgic holiday classic, it has been removed. Disney Plus, which has over 10 million subscribers, added new movies like Cool Runnings and have removed a few older ones. The movies include The Sandlot and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
It looks like the three-decade-old movie Home Alone is still popular among the audience. The news of the withdrawal of Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York has left the unhappy subscribers fuming. Some are upset over Disney plus removing its ‘own’ series, unlike Netflix. If it were for the technical issues, an error notification is least expected by the movie-buffs. A fan on Twitter wrote, “What’s the point of subscribing if soon all your content will be gone?” Looks like the cinephiles should grab copies of their favorite movies before they are shelved.
There is no official comment yet on the matter from the side of the video streaming service. However, it is to be noted that the service has been active in other countries.
