According to recent reports, it seems that Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo are no longer as close as they once were. While they were seated near each other at the Grammys in 2023, they did not interact. However, they did meet in person at the 2021 BRIT Awards, where Olivia performed “Drivers License” and Taylor took home the Global Icon Award.
According to various sources, the drama between Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo’s relationship seems to be related to writing credits. In March 2021, Rodrigo praised Swift for reaching out and sending her gifts and a handwritten note. However, in July 2021, Swift and Jack Antonoff were given official co-writing credits on Rodrigo’s song “Deja Vu” due to alleged similarities with Swift’s “Cruel Summer.”
Rodrigo later confirmed that the song was heavily inspired by “Cruel Summer” and added indie rocker St. Vincent to the songwriter roster on “Deja Vu” as well.
While it is not clear if there is bad blood between the two singers, fans have speculated that their lack of public support for each other may indicate a feud. Despite this, neither party has commented on their alleged feud, and it is unclear if they are still friends.
