Post the outbreak of Corona Virus and Television production brought to a halt with pending campaigns and events; Television Academy has officially stated that the awards-season calendar has been postponed.
The new date will be approx post 1 to 3 weeks and the voting will be reduced. The final date of submitting will be moved from May 11th to June 5th.
Further, the initial round of voting will be from July 2-13 from June 15-29 and nominations will be released by July 28th than July 14th. The next round of voting will be from August 21-31 rather than August 17-31 which were planned before.
But there is no change to the Primetime Emmy Awards which will be aired as per plan which is on September 20th as the Creative Arts Emmy event is said to happen on September 12th and 13th.
The cutoff for the eligibility will be the same as May 31 and the series premiered before the above date will be taken on account for the Emmy’s. For new upcoming series that is to air must be aired before June 30th to be included in this year.
The sudden changes have compressed the voting days and have cut down 5 days in the initial phase and 4 days in the next set of the voting period.
