The mother of one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims is upset that Evan Peters won the Golden Globe for his iconic serial killer character on Netflix. Shirley Hughes, the mother of Tony Hughes, a deaf victim of Jeffrey Dahmer, expressed displeasure with Evan Peters’ acceptance speech and the series’ Golden Globe win.
Evan Peters in his acceptance speech said that he is hoping something good will come from his win and the series. Shirley, on the other hand, is very furious and told TMZ that nothing good is going to take place from this award instead she says it will add more grief to the victims family by replaying the tragedy over and over again. She continued by saying that making mentally unstable people into heroes will only increase crime and that Evan should have rejected the role out of respect for the families who had tragically lost their loved ones.
