The Handmaid’s Tale season returns back to Hulu for season 5. The series was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally returned for a fourth season. The team announced that The Handmaid’s Tale was returning for season 5 before season 4 release. It has been almost two years since the last season’s release.
The Handmaid’s Tale remains one of Hulu’s biggest original shows, so they want to keep the streaming service to themself. Showrunner Bruce Miller said that “We’re very grateful to Hulu and MGM that the show will be returning for a fifth season, and especially to our loyal fans for their support. We are thrilled to be able to continue to tell these stories with our incredible cast and crew.”
This series is an adaptation of Marget Atwood’s classic dystopian novel. Season 4 was released differently from the show’s annual release pattern because of the pandemic. Season 4 has brought many unexpected twists, and fans are eagerly waiting for season 5. It is said that most of the show’s actors will return to the next season except Fred Waterford, who played Joseph Fiennes. Miller says that he didn’t know whether season 5 would be the end of the show. He also added, “I mean, (Elisabeth Moss) and I have talked about it, and the writing staff and I have talked extensively about where we’re going precisely – but I do feel like, after this year, it’s a good time to reassess. Miller said that he would continue as long as moss is on board with him.
