Robin Roberts and Amber Laign are set to marry this year after being together for nearly two decades. Robin on the Monday show of “Good Morning America” revealed the good news to the anchor and motivational speaker Gabrielle Bernstein.
“I’m saying yes to marriage. We’re getting married this year. It was something we talked about but we had put it off as she had become ill. It is saying yes to that, and that next chapter,” said Robin in the interview.
Robin, 62, revealed that the couple had marriage ideas in the past days but had to put them aside as Laign, 48, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. Laign completed her radiation therapy and cancer treatment in July 2022. Robert, who is also a breast cancer survivor, started dating Laign in 2005 but revealed her LGBT identity to the world only in 2013. Robin and Laign celebrated their 15 years of togetherness in 2020.
