Finally, the long-running craving of Game of Thrones fans is taking shape. Earlier this month, HBO officially announced the news of a prequel series for Game of Thrones, House of Dragon. According to the sources, the series will have many fresh faces and will cover the ‘Fire & Blood’ history in George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones.

It also announced on Twitter that Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), and Emma D’Arcy (Hanna) will be among the main cast to star in the series.
House of the Dragon will cover the story of the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen, 300 years before she became one of the biggest movers and shakers in Westeros. Smith, Cooke, and D’Arcy join Paddy Considine (The Outsider), previously cast as King Viserys Targaryen.
Fire will reign.

“Chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for great kings,” according to HBO.

We get Jon and Arya meet at the Godswood in Winterfell, Dany standing in front of a fireplace with her back turned, Beric Dondarrion lighting his sword, the Unsullied raising their shields, Varys looking up at something in awe (we presume a dragon), Arya fighting on the battlefield, and Tyrion speaking in Winterfell’s great hall.
April 15th folks. Mark the date.
