A hacker released authentic early footage of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI, with the internet touting it as “one of the biggest leaks in video game history.”
The hacker posted a 3GB file with over 90 videos containing footage of Miami-influenced Vice City locations, some robbery clips, and a glimpse of the two playable characters of the upcoming Rockstar Games’ open-world franchise game from Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.
Bloomberg confirmed earlier this year that GTA VI would have two playable characters, including a female protagonist—the first time in the franchise. Rockstar Games also said the characters are inspired by the American criminal couple, Bonnie and Clyde.
Social media platforms flooded with the leaked content, consisting of clips with the female protagonist, Lucia robbing a restaurant and taking hostages. Another clip shows one of the main characters boarding the “Vice City Metro,” the game allows the player to travel through the city through metro trains.
Fans reminisce about some clips as the locations are seemingly similar to 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Many also suggest that cops might be more intelligent than in the previous games. So be careful when you snatch a car or rob a bank in GTA VI…
The hacker, going by the username “teapotuberhacker” in GTAForums, claimed they were behind the Uber hack last week and said they may “leak more data soon,” such as GTA V and GTA VI source code, assets, and testing builds.
