The former engineer and co-anchor of Mythbusters for ‘Discovery and White Rabbit Project’ in Netflix passed away and he was 49.
Speaking on his demise, Discovery released a statement to sources stating: “We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant,” and “He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.” Grant is said to pass away after suffering a brain aneurysm as per reports.

Grant Imahara has sadly passed away at the age of 49. Imahara was an ILM modeler and animatronics technician who worked on the prequel trilogy. His work included building robots for the films and controlling R2-D2’s movements. May the Force be with you. pic.twitter.com/Uz98lSLNRM

Post beginning his career as an engineer at THX and ILM division in Lucasfilms, Grant later entered Mythbusters 3rd season and exited in 2014 with co-presenter Kari Bryon and Tory Belleci and the three were back together for Netflix’s White Rabbit in 2016.

Imahara was an active member of the robot combat group frequently featuring in BattleBots from the 2000s alongside his robot Deadblow and then coming back as one of the judges. He also presented ‘Home of the Future’ in 2018 a web drama co-produced by ‘The Verge and Curbed.’
The former co-anchor of Mythbusters Adam Savage shared in his tweet: “I’m at a loss,” and “No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist, and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”
