The news isn’t official but trusted sources reveal that the DCEU is in talks with the actor Liam Hemsworth to play the role of Green Arrow in its upcoming feature film. While the fans were so much eager to see their favorite DC character on the big screens after years of wait and expectations, Stephen Amell who use to play the character for all eight seasons already announced that he retired from the role officially, the film crew is on a hunt for the perfect artist to fit into the DC’s one of staple character, Oliver Queen.
Rumors taking turns across the H-town that Liam Hemsworth happens to be one of the top choices for the character. The other character includes Charlie Hunnam, and the former Sons of Anarchy star have been a popular choice among fans for years now, with Taron Egerton also said to be in the mix. Of course, the last time Kingsman‘s Eggy picked up a bow and arrow it was for the disastrous Robin Hood, but he’s still a talented actor and proven action star. For now, though, Hemsworth remains one of the top choices for the DCEU’s Green Arrow and we’ll just have to wait and see who the studio goes within the end.
“Arrow” to halt after Season 8
Arrowverse has come to an end.
It all started in 2012 when Warner Bros drew inspiration from the success of Dark Knight trilogy and decided to take a grim version of the Green Arrow. Five years after getting shipwrecked on an island, fighting mercenaries, foiling bioweapon attacks, and more, Oliver Queen returned home brooded with vengeance to find his father’s murderer and cleaning up his city as a bow and arrow-wielding vigilante.
Star Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, announced the news via Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
“Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life…but you can’t be a vigilante forever,” Amell tweeted. “Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall. There’s so much to say… for now, I just want to say thank you.”

Arrow is the reason why series such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones went on to invest heavily in action and graphics in vigilante TV shows. Its resounding success went on to inspire shows like The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, proving that superhero success can be replicated in the small screen too, at a time when superhero franchises were thought to make it big only in big-budget Hollywood movies.
