A few months ago Hugh Jackman surprised Wolverine fans with three words “Yeah, sure, Ryan” when Ryan Reynolds asked him, “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?”
Now Hugh has gotten candid about how he will get in shape for reprising his ripped character Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie.
“I’ve learned you can’t rush it. I’ve learned that it takes time,” Jackman said. “So, we have six months from when I finish (Broadway’s The Music Man) to when I started filming. And I’m not doing any other work. I’m going to be with my family and train. That’s going to be my job for six months.”
Jackman continued, “And I’m really fit right now. There’s one thing that about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing, is I’m fit. So, I’m healthy. I have a good place to start. And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I’m coming for you.”
Hugh Jackman jokingly requested Academy not to nominate the ‘Good Afternoon’ song!
Hugh Jackman asked the Academy not to nominate Ryan Reynolds’ song, ‘Good Afternoon’ in a joking way.
‘The Greatest Showman’ star posted a video on Twitter saying, “Hey everybody it’s 2023, and I really really wanted to send out a positive message at the beginning of the year, but recent events have made that impossible.”
The 54-year-old actor later went on to say that though he and his family loved the movie, ‘Spirited,’ he was still not onboard for ‘Good Afternoon’ to receive an Oscar nomination in the best song category and added that Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the best song category would make the next year of his life insufferable.
He concluded with a note which says, “please from the bottom of my heart — do not validate Ryan Reynolds in this way, please.”
The ‘Red Notice’ star responded to Jackman’s video on his Instagram account, “I know it’s still early but Good Afternoon to you, Mr. Jackman.”
He also tweeted, “Disagree. I think the deep fakes that sang and danced for Will and I would love to perform at the Oscars,” which indicates Jackman’s disrespectful attitude towards the efforts put by Reynolds and Ferrel in singing and dancing for the song.
Hugh Jackson says ‘It was necessary’ to have a psychiatrist on Set
Hugh Jackman opened up on the importance of mental health support on Film Sets. In an interview with BBC which was published on Tuesday, the volatile actor said that psychiatrists were hired to be present in the film set of ‘The Son’, for the benefit of the cast and the crew members, in case they need any help(to talk it out).
“This was the first time I’d ever seen such a thing on a film,” Jackman said. “And people used it and it was necessary.”
The Son, movie is an adaptation of one of director Florian Zeller’s own plays, which deals with the subject of depression. The movie is about a 17-year-old teenager, Nicholas(Zen McGrath). This character of a son faces a lot of mental issues because of the parent’s divorce. Hugh Jackman plays the father Peter and Laura Dern plays the mother Kate.
“There’s a little part of the old school part of my brain [that thinks], ‘Well, that’s up to you to work out.’ If you need to go to a doctor, for whatever reason, your foot, your mental health, you know, you work that out,” the ‘Logan’ actor said. “But I think it certainly would be a sign from an employer that we understand taking care of the whole person, not just paying them, but taking care of their well-being in all forms is really, really important.”
