The people of Hungary are extremely furious over what they call the “slave law” that was amended in the parliament by PM Viktor Orban’s right-wing party. The approval of controversial measures on the country’s labor laws severely aggravated the anger of public throughout the country.
The city of Budapest began its protest almost instantly after the law was passed on Dec 2. The agitation arose not only from the opposition but also from several trade unions as the labor reform focuses mainly on employers’ benefits and demanding employees to work overtime. Following this, the “Free country” rally was also conducted in many of the hotspots across the city asking President Janos Ader to provide his disapproval over the amendment.
