Located in a relatively disastrous region called the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia is quite often hit by earthquakes and tsunamis. The Southeast Asian country was struck by a series of tremors on Tuesday with the greatest magnitude among them being 6.4. This has brought panic among the people of the island of Sumbawa where the tremors were more evident.
Thankfully, there is no loss of life or property as a result of the earthquake. This is Indonesia’s second incident in the past two months where the former was a disastrous tsunami that killed nearly 400 which was caused by a volcanic eruption. Apparently, there has been no tsunami warnings as of now, but the situation has been tense ever since. Let’s wait for the reports relating to the actual after-effects of the earthquake.
