She pursued acting from Santa Ana College in California and also at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Besides, she also made her debut in summer stock in the ’60s and 68 and went on to do the Broadway rock musical hair.

Diane starred as the lead first in the Broadway series “Play it Again, Sam 1969 which was reiterated in 1972 as a film. With this, she first appeared in the movie Lovers and Other Strangers in 1970. Some of her popular movies include “The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather, Part II (1974), Sleeper (1973), Love and Death (1975), Interiors (1978), and Manhattan (1979).”

She won Oscars for Annie Hall as the best actress and the film won the best picture and Woody Allen won the best director. She was also nominated for Warren Beatty’s Reds in 1981.

Apart from acting, she has also helmed various films like “Hanging Up in 2000. Her story was published in 2011 and she went on to pen essays Sleeper (1973), Love and Death (1975), Interiors (1978), and Manhattan (1979).”
