Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos is about to leave the earth. Mr. Amazon, the richest person in the world, announced that he and his brother Mark will participate in the first human spaceflight conducted by his rocket company, blue origin.
He also stated in an Instagram post that the voyage would take place on July 20, the anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing. He also announced that “Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of traveling to space,” He added that his brother, Mark Bezos, will be joining him in this “the greatest adventure, with my best friend.”
Wanna travel with Mr. Amazon? Then you have an option. The third seat on the Blue Origin flight will be available to the person who wins an ongoing auction for the ticket. According to Blue Origin, the current highest bid for the ticket is up to $2.8 million, and the online bidding for the seat will last until June 10, and the live auction will take place on June 12.
Along with Bezos, two more billionaires also invested billions of dollars in a rocket startup. But, Bezos will be the first one among the three to travel to space on a rocket owned by his company. The blue origin spacecraft, which is about to carry Jeff Bezos and others, have undergone 15 test flights.
