“Save Who You Can Save” – Joel and Ellie Step onto to Small Screen in the New HBO’s The Last of Us Trailer

Naughty Dog’s iconic game franchise The Last of Us’ live-action adaptation under the same name is all set to make its way to the television industry. The spine-chilling trailer dropped on The Last of Us Day, the day when the post-apocalyptic zombie game was released 9 years ago. A perfect day to release the trailer!

Following a short teaser last month, fans of the game were hyped to see their favorite game entering the TV industry. The trailer gave viewers an edge-of-the-seat vibe with its thrilling visuals and cinematography. 

“Endure and survive.” Video game players are well-aware of the name Naughty Dog. The developer is known for its captivating storyline and stunning graphics. The players could never finish a game without getting attached to the game characters. Still can’t forget the Uncharted franchise, can we?

The Last of Us TV series is the live-adaptation of the video game that takes place in the post-apocalyptic world full of zombies where Joel, the main character with a tragic past, is hired to take Ellie, a teen girl out of a quarantine zone. The two characters go through the most savage, heartwarming, and heartbreaking journey throughout the game.

One thing fans always fear about live-action adaptations is the casting, but thanks to HBO for getting it right. “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal and “Game of Thrones” star Bella Ramsey play the main characters, Joel and Ellie respectively. It is interesting that Pascal also starred in “Game of Thrones,” but the duo’s characters never met in the series. The Last of Us game’s voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, Joel and Ellie respectively, are rumored to have roles in the upcoming series. 

The HBO Original adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us is set to release in 2023.
