When every industrial giant is thinking to move close to environmentally sustainable products, the American Rapper too has turned his attention towards it.
Yeezy, one of the most influential sneaker brands is a fashion collaboration between Adidas and Kanye West. As part of the brand’s move to sustainability, Kanye revealed a prototype pair of shoes made using algae foam at day 3 of Fast company’s innovation festival.
West then went to announce that Yeezy has moved its production to a $4000-acre headquarters in Cody, Wyoming where it will grow its algae in a hydroponic farm. By which Yeezy doesn’t have to look for algae from public lakes!
“We’re going to be farming and going seed to the sole,” said West.
While Yeezy’s clog style algae foam sneaker prototype helps the environment but misses to win people over as it doesn’t look fashionable or appealing. Luckily, West is looking into the aesthetics of the sneakers and will roll out an impeccable design in early 2020.
