It looks like the 32-year old who portrayed the role of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter series was agitated with Trump’s recent comments on calling Corona a Chinese Virus. Not once but the American President chose to address the pandemic as Chinese Virus in two of his tweets this week. Katie, a Scottish national with a Chinese origin, replied to Trump’s tweet in a truly irritated tone. The Wild Swans actress who has rendered her performances in movies like The Foreigner and One Child tagged Trump as racist in her reply. It was not just Katie but many others thought it was indeed a discriminatory comment by the POTUS.
Trump’s way of handling the situation has already kindled angst among the people of the U.S. and his recent tweets only added fuel to the fire. The political spat between the U.S and China continues to get bitter as the latter has expelled journalists from 3 major newspapers (The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal) to stay in the country and has ordered them to return their media passes within 10 days.
