Arya Stark was one of the most famous and celebrated characters in Game of Thrones, and fans couldn’t stop admiring the arc of the young girl turned-warrior. Most of the credit goes to Maisie Williams for portraying the Stark prodigy in a jaw-dropping way. Despite all the action and storyline, a huge part of the fandom is still trying to accept the poor ending of the show. Well, even Williams feels the same.
The actress joined a Twitch stream with her brother James Williams, saying she recently rewatched Game of Thrones, referring to the finale as, “It definitely fell off at the end.”
She then went on, “But it started really strong. I was heartbroken when Ned died, yet I knew it was coming. Because for the first time, I could really feel the story.”
The final season of Game of Thrones brought mixed reviews, with several fans, including the cast, getting upset with the way most of their characters ended up. Lena Headey, who played the villainous Cersei Lannister, revealed she had “mixed” feelings when she learned about her character’s end. Conleth Hill, who played Lord Varys, a strategist and a vital ally of Daenerys Targaryen, was visibly disappointed during the table read at his character’s death.
HBO soon gave fans something to compensate for the loss, “House of the Dragon.” Delivering a shocking finale with a major death, indicating an intense battle that is yet to come.
