The CEO of Facebook has spoken against his competitor Twitter as they had planned to fact check on the U.S President’s tweets. And after this act by Twitter, its CEO Jack Dorsey has been facing outrage by daily users and Donald Trump himself.
Sources stated that Mark had spoken about the issue while he was in a Fox News interview that was to be aired on Thursday.
In a glimpse of the video, the founder of Facebook has said: “a big part of his rationale behind the more lenient tendency was founded in his belief that platforms such as the one he started aren’t in charge of truth.”
He continued: “We have a different policy, I think than Twitter on this. I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online.”
“In general, private companies probably shouldn’t be, especially these platform companies, shouldn’t be in the position of doing that.”
To this Dorsey hit back tweeting by defending twitter’s place. The firm’s CEO stated that he thinks he has the duty to make the content of his site to be more interesting and informative as best as possible.
Speaking on Zuckerberg’s comment he said: “This does not make us an ‘arbiter of truth.’ Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves.”
