One of the hottest actresses in Hollywood is Megan Fox. She made her debut with acting in the year 2001 on television and gradually stepped into movies in 2007 with the film “Confession of a Teenage Drama Queen.”
From there, she soared high and gave several blockbusters one of which is the Transformers which brought her laurels. In 2009 she acted in a black horror comedy “Jennifer’s Body” which failed to impress the box office.
The movie was criticized very badly that Megan Fox went into a state of Depression. Initially, she thought she was slammed for her role but later did she know that her straight forward nature was also condemned. This was due to the fact that Megan had commented on the Transformer’s director Michael Bay to Hitler and also spoke that she was highly abused from a tender age in the limelight of Hollywood.
Fox shared that: “There was so much going on with me at that time, that movie being picked apart was not at the top of [my list of concerns].” She said in an interview on Wednesday, on the 10th anniversary of “Jennifer’s Body.” “Because I had such a fraught relationship with the public, and the media, and journalists, and I was struggling so much at that time in general, this didn’t stand out as a particularly painful moment, it was just part of the mix.”
Besides this, she also confessed that she went through a lot of “me too” issues with certain men that were not opened as she felt they are not worth it. After the failure of Jennifer’s body, she hid from the spotlight in order to feel better.
On the contrary, Megan Fox felt so deprived that even the feminist organization had not given their support during her tough times.
Adding to this she stated that: “I think I had a genuine psychological breakdown where I wanted just nothing to do,” she confessed. “I didn’t want to be seen. I didn’t want to have to take a photo, do a magazine, and walk a carpet. I didn’t want to be seen in public at all because… I believed that I was going to be mocked, or spat at, or someone was going to yell at me, or people would stone me or savage me for just being out and being whatever.”
The Memphis girl also told that she found solace as a mother as she has 3 sons with her spouse Brian Austin Green. But on the other hand, being a mother had also left a huge gap in her profession.
Despite Motherhood is a beautiful phase, the movie industry treats women after marriage or children as a “handicap” she added. This is sad as it keeps continuing and women have to fight hard to prove themselves in their second innings.
