Michelle Yeoh won the award for Best Actress for her marvelous acting in Everything All At Once.
A movie that performed remarkably well during the 95th Annual Academy Awards was Everywhere All At Once. Michelle proudly approached the podium in front of her classmates after her name was announced, and she immediately started speaking in an emotive and motivational manner.
“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof that dreams — dream big — and dreams do come true,” she said. “And ladies: Don’t let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime.”
She continued by thanking everyone who contributed to the movie before giving a shout to her family. “I have to dedicate this to my mom — all the moms in the world because they are really the superheroes and without them, none of this would be here tonight. She’s 84 and I’m taking this home to her,” she exclaimed. Other family members and the Academy were thanked as she concluded her remarks.
An Asian woman won the Oscar for best actress in a leading role for the first time in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 95-year history.
With movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Crazy Rich Asians, Malaysian-born Yeoh rose to fame before gaining international notoriety. This was her first Oscar nomination.
